All I ever seem to do recently is binge watch! Whether that’s on Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+ - you name it, I’m there. I wanted a place to log all of my recent watches and thought ‘well why don’t I put it on the blog’ that way, I can look back on the movies and shows that I’ve loved or just downright hated. Without further ado, here’s my February monthly wrap up:
To All the Boys: Always and
Forever
The third and final film in the ‘To all the
boys I’ve loved before’ franchise and it didn’t disappoint. These movies are so
cheesy and can be downright cringe at times but I can’t help but love them and
I’m now SOOOOO tempted to read all the books to see how they compare to the
films. I think the main reason as to why I love this film so much though is purely
because of Noah Centineo, I mean… HELLO.
Behind Her Eyes
Now, I found out about this show through
Bookstagram as this show is based on a novel which I have never read. I went straight
into this show completely blind, not knowing what it was about and I actually
really enjoyed it. It’s a psychological thriller about a single mother who
starts an affair with her boss whilst secretly befriending his wife behind the
scenes.
This show goes from 0-100 very quickly towards
the end and it honestly blew my mind a little bit. It’s only 6 episodes but I’d
highly recommend watching if you love a good strange thriller.
Don’t Breathe
This is the second time I’ve watched it – first
being at the cinema when it came out. I was scrolling through Amazon Prime one
evening trying to find something to watch and this popped up, I remember really
liking it in the cinema but I couldn’t remember the whole thing so I decided to
re-watch.
This is classed as a horror movie however I think
it should really be in the thriller category as I don’t think this is THAT scary.
It follows three friends who break into the house of a war veteran who is blind,
to try and steal his money however they soon discover that he’s not as defenceless
as they think he is and he has a very dark secret too.
Firefly Lane
I’ll be honest, I’m only half way through this
series so far but I know I’ll finish it before March so thought I’d whack it
in. I think this is such a feel good series on the days where you don’t really
fancy watching anything TOO serious.
It follows Kate and Tully who met as young
girls on Firefly Lane where they both lived and became inseparable friends throughout
30 years of life. This show follows them through their ups and downs, dramas,
families and love lives.
The Vanishing at The Cecil Hotel
I do love a true-crime documentary, this one I
didn’t like as much as some others though but I’m not too sure why – it just
wasn’t for me. This talks about the disappearance of Elisa Lam who went
travelling across America and stayed in the Cecil Hotel in downtown LA which we
soon find out is a very uneasy place to stay in as there’s been multiple suicides,
drug deals and even murders in this specific hotel. A video of Elisa filmed in
a hotel elevator before she vanished went viral when it was released by LA
police during their investigation.
It was interesting to watch however I much preferred
the ‘Don’t F*** With Cats’ or ‘American Murder: The Family Next Door’ compared
to this one.
Greenland
Now this is a FAB movie!
If you love a good end of the world movie, then
this is for you. I LOVE movies about apocalypse or end of the world (don’t ask
why, it’s a weird obsession) so this was right up my street. This follows a
small family who embark on a journey to find sanctuary as planet-killing comet
hurtles towards Earth wiping out nearly half of the population.
Honestly this movie was INTENSE and I was
literally on the edge of my seat throughout the whole film. Go watch it.
WandaVision
I love anything Marvel and so does my fiancé. I
actually got very upset when Avengers End Game finished because I just wanted
more!
I love how Disney+ are realising more Marvel
content and this was one of the shows that I was super excited to delve into.
Honestly, I still don’t know where this show is going to go yet – a new episode
gets released every Friday and even though we are all caught up, you just never
know what’s going to happen next! If you’re a Marvel fan, then please give this
a go – the first 2 episodes were quite weird but hang in there because it
starts to make sense!
I’m thinking of making this a monthly thing, as
I enjoy looking back at the movies and shows that I’ve watched and giving my
thoughts on them. Have you seen any of these?
