My Current Favourite Cleansers

Monday, 13 April 2020

If I had to choose my favourite time of the day, it would 100% be the time where I get to take off all my makeup and go ahead with my evening skincare routine. I don’t know about you, but I find it’s one of the best feelings in the world when your face is freshly washed and hydrated ready for the night’s sleep.

With the current lockdown situation that we are in at the moment, I haven’t been wearing makeup that often however I have been keeping a consistent day and night skincare routine in order to keep my skin in check.

I have a h u g e love for cleansers.

Cleansers come in many different formulas, and I am a massive fan of the double cleanse which I swear by. I will normally start my makeup removal process with a balm cleanser which melts down into an oil to take off the majority of my makeup (I am particularly enjoying The Farmacy Green Clean) and then I’ll go in with a second cleanse of a different formula cleanser – these are the cleansers which I’ll be talking about and I have rounded up a few of my current favourites to share with you…

The gentlest cleanser you will ever use. I suffer from dry/sensitive skin and anything abrasive with make my skin flare up like a tomato therefore I’m super picky with the stuff that I buy. The Soy Face cleanser from Fresh is so soothing, it contains amino acid-rich soy proteins, calming cucumber extract, and balancing rosewater. I find that this cleansers soothes and calms the redness in my skin but it also manages to keep my skin hydrated and clean. The only thing I would say is that I’m not a massive fan of the scent, it smells quite plant based but I can easily get over that due to the fact that this cleanser is the bomb.

This is the most affordable cleanser out of all three, I found out about CeraVe from the incredible Caroline Hirons who is the ultimate skincare guru. I tend to use this cleanser most when my skin is feeling more on the drier side, it has quite a thick lotion type texture which glides onto the skin and locks in the hydration. It contains 3 essential ceramides to protect the skins barrier and it’s also fragrance free which works perfectly for my sensitive skin.

I was super hesitant to buy this first as I normally stay well away from foam cleansers as I find they irritate my skin, however I could resist making a purchase of this range as soon as I saw the amount of great reviews that it had and honestly, it works extremely well for my skin! The product is packed with fermented superfoods and it’s formulated with a micellar technology, this cleanser claims to remove all traces of makeup (I haven’t tried this out purely because I normally use this as a second cleanse to clean my skin), leaving the complexion looking balanced and fresh. It contains green tea seed oil to keep the skin hydrated and its 100% sulphate free therefore doesn’t dry out my skin like most foam cleansers tend to do. I’ve been using this cleanser the most recently every morning and night, and in the mornings I pair it with the Superfood Cica Calm Hydration Juice which is a gel like serum used to provide more hydration and cooling of the skin.

If anyone has any suggestions of cleansers to try, let me know in the comments.
